SUNDAY SGHETTIS IS COMING BACK 〰️

Sunday Sghetti-ers,

Life can get complicated. Ups and downs. Zigs and zags. Tears and laughs.

The beautiful part of life, though, is that when things do get tough, certain people and certain things that can help to pull us out of the darkness. The beacons. The lights. The little glimmers of hope. Mrs. Sghettis has always been that light. But Sunday Sghettis has been the other half of that equation for the past 5 years. It was started during the pandemic as a way to pull myself out of isolation and connect with friends, family, and eventually some new folks through my true passion – food. And in some ways, it really saved me from losing myself during that year and a half.

This past year, life got incredibly complicated again – medically, mentally, and spiritually, I was taken to task, and I foolishly put Sunday Sghettis on the back burner when I needed it the most. I let it sit there and would post an old recipe once in a while, but I never truly jumped back in. But the last few weeks, the moments I was able to get into the kitchen reminded me of how important this project is. It’s about those true dopamine hits of creating something and hearing someone say “holy shit that’s amazing.” It’s about sharing a passion with those who share it.

Sunday Sghettis is reignited. And I’ve been reimagining the ways in which this comes back to life and the plan is nearing completion. But it will look something like this:

  • Recipes: I had stopped writing and posting recipes. They take time, but they also brought me so much joy to share and watch you all making them. Recipes are coming back in a much better format.

  • Videos: I make videos for other people and clients all the time. Why wouldn’t I make some for Sunday Sghettis, too? So expect a lot of videos – recipes, history of pasta shapes, tinned fish recipes and reviews, and cookbook reviews are coming very soon.

  • Supper Clubs: Seasonal supper clubs are going to be available again too. I’m working out how to do ticketing and I’m also looking to make some of the proceeds go to a good cause.

  • Substack: A newsletter that will deliver some of all of this right to your inbox, but also a subscription that will deliver special content before everyone else gets it.

  • Merch: Because who wouldn’t want more Sghettis merchandise? And that pepper grinder I want to be buried with? I’ll share how to get that too.

2025 is the year of reclaiming Sunday Sghettis, because what’s next and what’s possible outweighs the what ifs.

I thank you all for being a part of this journey so far. And I’m excited for where we are all going to go together.
